Come the hour – Come the bearded man! The year is 1949 and a number of key events are triggered simultaneously across the globe, a subtle yet resounding thread sewing them together, leading to one moment in time.

In England clothes rationing suddenly ends, while in Berlin the blockade is spontaneously lifted. At that instant Mao Tse Tung proclaims the Peoples Republic of China and to Ilford a son is born…with a beard!

Yes , mysterious events indeed conspiring to culminate in the birth of the individual – Graham Frederick William Collins. So, from where does his imaginative mind stem? Not having prior formal art college training, and of no particular political or religious persuasion, Graham being naturally gifted, has taught himself over the years to create his own individual style of imaginative fantasy art. His paintings are created, usually from an original idea which is first sketched out, then slowly unfolds as he ‘walks’ through the canvas and paints what he observes.

Graham launched his first ever exhibition in 2002 and now invites everyone to enjoy his fascinating flights of weird and insular fantasy. Most of the pictures on this site are available for purchase in various formats.
